Dangote completes deal to buy 10,000 trucks from Indonesia
In a Country where the government says they have the peoples interest at heart, we do not see what measures theyve put in place to better the lives of its People.
Instead it imposes high tax rates while they stuck up wealth and assets for them and their families abroad, leaving the masses to suffer.
The so call plot to close borders in order to make us patronize and invest our resources in Nigerian made products was a good idea, the only issue that comes therein are embedded in these questions;
* What are the measures put in place to enable governments goals come to reality?
* How is the government going about regulating prizes or Nigerian made goods?
* Whats the empowerment scheme by the government in this law?
Why did I put these questions forward?
Someone told me a few months ago that Nigerian elite owned companies liked Glo Comms, Dangote, Cadbury etc, pay lesser percentages of tax fees compared to smaller businessmen, Companies and started like SMEs.
Now the border has been closed to basically all importations of foreign products except on certain grounds like if the product does not have anyone that manufactures it within the country.
We also see that the border closing, instead of improving lives, creating jobs etc, has only increased cost of living, higher tax rates, increase in cost of transportation and with our Nigerian rice sold for high prices and still not well processed to remove all dirt.
Just around a week, it was announced that Dangote group of companies proceeds to seal final contract with an Indonesian Company to supply 10,000 trucks.
Dangote knowing that we have a car manufacturing company in Nigeria, Innoson Motors manufacturing, which tops as the African car producers.
He apparently ignored Innoson but rather opted for a foreign company.
According to the Indonesian Director of Maritime Industry, Transportation Equipment and Defense Equipment, Putu Juli Ardika, Dangote group of company has concluded all arrangements to buy 10,000 trucks.
“Dangote’s team will check three units as a sample to be brought to Africa at the end of January,”he added.
Putu, who was the former director of International Industrial Market Access "The trucks are set to be exported over the period of 5years, with 1,000 units to be brought to Nigeria 2020 and 2021."
“Dangote Group is very interested in importing [the trucks] for its customers in Africa,”Putu saidon Monday.
The said trucks are expected to offer transportation solutions to local communities, especially local farmers who require such means of transport to convey their produce from their farms.
