JUST IN: Renowned Nigerian Poet J.P. Clark Dies at 85

Renowned Nigerian poet, Prof. John Pepper Clark has died at the age of 85.   The emeritus and highly respected professor of Literature who was born on the 9th April, 1935  in Kiagbodo, Nigeria  died today, October 13, 2020. JP Clark reportedly joined his ancestors on Tuesday morning in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos where he had been receiving treatment. His death was announced in a statement signed by Prof. C. C. Clark.   The statement reads: "The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce that Emeritus Professor of Literature and Renowned Writer, Prof. John Pepper Clark, has finally dropped his pen in the early hours of today, Tuesday, 13 October 2020.   "Prof. J. P. Clark has paddled on to the great beyond in comfort of his wife, children and siblings, around him.   "The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Manchester United were too strong for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to beat Chelsea 2-0 courtesy of goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire. It was also a game that saw Odion Ighalo make his debut.  One of the anticipated battles on the night was the midfield battle between Fred and N'golo Kante and both players did not disappoint fans though Kante was substituted early in the game because of injury.  Before he was taken off, he had a duel with Fred and the picture of that duel has got people talking.
