NYSC: FG Enrols Corp Members Into Compulsory Health Scheme

The Federal Government has approved the enrolment of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the National Health Insurance Scheme.

This was revealed today 9th November in a statement released by the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim


The Brigadier general started his statement by saluting and expressing gratitude towards the security agencies and other stakeholders for their support

Furthermore, he said the scheme has concluded arrangement with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for the enrolment of corps members into the NHIS in line with a presidential directive. 

He then concluded his statement saying that they have also expended huge resources on critical health needs of corps members, including footing of medical bills

Nigerian soldiers including terrorists have died during a bloody gun battle along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway. Six Nigerian soldiers have died during a gun battle with Boko Haram terrorists along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway.  The insurgents also lost a large number of casualties in the tragic encounter. According to Punch, soldiers and mobile policemen have now cleared the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway off remnants of Boko Haram that have terrorised motorists in the last few days. Security sources said the insurgents were engaged between Mainok and Benesheikh on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway between 11am and 1pm on Tuesday. The sources said the soldiers had engaged the insurgents in a shootout between 11am and 11.35am.
